We will see continuing progress in this area.  I mentioned that while reviewing our postings, I was watching the world series, and up poppled a television spot for WebMD! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This coming week may stir some discussions.  In particular we are asked to consider the ways in which Internet access should be filtered for children in schools and libraries.  And, the underlying question is when are they old enough to learn to browse without filters?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Finally, I encourage you to review the description in the discussion board where we are to post the Research Plan. In particular, I am elated with the research you have conducted on the voting records of incumbents.  I am so very pleased with our interactions in the discussion board.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Looking ahead to this coming week, we will look at ways in which access to health care and health care information have been changed by the advent of the Internet.  It should make for some interesting research and discussion!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Just a reminder that research plan is due at the end of the month. As I describe in the podcast, we are truly developing an online community.  I am so very pleased with our interactions in the discussion board.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Looking ahead to this week, government and the Internet are on the agenda. We will be examining voting records and special interest group endorsements of incumbents and perhaps some early-announcers for the 2006 elections.  I think you will find it surprising just how many services the state of Illinois provides online! And, I think our discussions of Marc Prensky's seminal 2001 article "Digital Natives - Digital Immigrants" was excellent.  Nice to note that some of the "immigrants" reported that they really felt like "natives."  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Looking ahead to this week, banking and online commerce top the agenda.  I look forward to our practical application of searching froogle, biznet, epinions, CNET, and PC Magazine. We looked at BPL, WiMax and XMax services as potentially providing access for broad areas that do not have access to the 'net.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This week, our emphasis is again on access.  We discuss whether Internet service should be considered a necessity or near-necessity such as the telephone and electricity were considered in the past century.
